Bernice is a former Early Years teacher and has enjoyed transferring her years of experience from teaching on land to teaching in the water.

Bernice was looking for swimming lessons for her own son and discovered it was difficult to find availability with a good quality provider. She joined LDI as a swimming assistant, on the suggestion of her son who said “mum I think you would be a great swim teacher”. He was right! Bernice has since become a Swim England fully qualified swimming teacher and has her Rescue Test for Swimming Teachers qualification.

With a warm and welcoming style, she delivers lessons to all ages from babies to adults and has also taught school swimming to primary school-aged beginners.
